Health Psychology

Living with a chronic health condition can affect every part of your life, including your relationships, work, and how you see yourself. In fact, more than 1 in 5 Americans report that chronic health conditions negatively impact their ability to do the things they need to in everyday life.

Health psychology interventions help a person living with chronic illness to control the things they can control and feel better despite chronic disease.

Who is it For?

Health psychology interventions can help anyone who feels like their physical health is impacting their mental health or quality of life. This includes people coping with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, cardiac conditions, respiratory conditions, and more.

My Approach

My approach depends on where you are at in your chronic illness journey. I use a strengths-based approach, and we will make sure that you have routines in place to manage symptoms including movement, rest, and self-care. We can also process any grief, anger, jealousy, and fear that can come along with an unexpected chronic illness. I often integrate interventions from mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and acceptance and commitment-based approaches.

What to Expect

Sessions would be weekly and virtual. Treatment length varies depending on a patient's treatment goals but improvements in quality of life can be achieved in as short as 4 months.
