My Approach to Mental Health Treatment

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of good treatment. Early on, we typically focus on developing concrete, practical skills to improve your day-to-day quality of life. I really aim to help you to start to feel a bit better faster.

As that foundation solidifies, treatment often opens into deeper, insight-oriented work. Throughout, we'll check in regularly to make sure treatment is actually meeting your needs. This is a collaborative and evolving process.

My Background & Training

I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2019. I completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship training at Yale School of Medicine, where I continue to serve as an Assistant Clinical Professor.

I'm trained as a health psychologist, with clinical experiences on chronic pain teams and in a range of medical and outpatient settings. Throughout these experiences I observed the significant impact of anxiety and trauma, and I sought out additional training in treating PTSD and related conditions. I worked at the Women's Clinic at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System addressing the impacts of military sexual trauma.

I have also provided trauma-informed treatment to pregnant women experiencing addiction issues. My therapeutic philosophy centers on the belief that each person possesses innate resilience. I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, build strengths, and develop practical tools for lasting wellbeing.

A Bit About Me

I was born in the Midwest but grew up mostly on the East Coast. I currently live in Hamden, Connecticut, with my husband and two children. Social justice matters deeply to me personally, and it informs the way I show up as a therapist. I am LBGTQ-affirming, and I fully support social justice movements that address inequity in all forms.

As for hobbies — does keeping up with a wonderfully bossy three-year-old and his baby sister sidekick count?

Services & Fees

I offer individual psychotherapy to adults across the lifespan. While I work with a range of patients, I have a particular interest in working with women navigating life's biggest transitions — becoming a mom, starting over after divorce, or stepping into caregiving for aging parents.

More information my fees and insurance billing practices can be found on the FAQ page.
